Backend Developer in Morocco: APIs, Data, and Integrations

My backend work supports product features: API routes, integrations, authentication, data access, and structured outputs. I have worked with Node.js and Express, Rails controllers, PostgreSQL, Cloudflare D1, Supabase, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Bedrock. I’m based in Morocco and work as a full-stack engineer.

At a glance

  • Professional backend work includes Express, Next.js API routes, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and Rails APIs.
  • Rungset uses Cloudflare D1 with Drizzle ORM.
  • A serverless AI integration uses AWS Lambda and Amazon Bedrock to return structured intake data.

Backend engineering in context

Backend implementation is shaped by the product contract: who can perform an operation, what data is valid, how records relate, and what happens when a dependency is unavailable. I have worked on these concerns in Node.js and Express applications, Next.js API routes, and an established Rails product.

The storage and runtime depend on the application. My project experience includes PostgreSQL with Prisma, Cloudflare D1 with Drizzle ORM, Supabase, and AWS Lambda. Those are not interchangeable choices; each project has a different hosting and data boundary.

Integration boundaries

External APIs and model services need careful treatment because their credentials, error modes, latency, and response formats are outside the application’s control. I keep privileged calls on the server and validate structured responses before the application uses them.

For a clinical intake assistant, the Lambda and Bedrock path returns structured intake JSON. The system is scoped to structuring information; it is not presented as a diagnostic tool. This is an example of why a backend feature should have a clear product and safety boundary.
