TypeScript for Full-Stack Web Development
TypeScript is a core part of my full-stack web development work. I use it to make component inputs, data shapes, and API behavior more explicit in React and Next.js applications. I’m based in Morocco and build products that span browser interfaces, server logic, and persistent data.

At a glance
- TypeScript is used in Rungset and OpenMate.
- OpenMate validates external and model-generated data with Zod in addition to static types.
- The portfolio itself is implemented in TypeScript with Qwik City.
Types as a way to make boundaries visible
Types are most useful when they clarify how data moves through a feature. In a web application, that can include component properties, form values, API request and response shapes, database records, and values returned by external services.
I use TypeScript across React and Next.js work so those boundaries are visible to the implementation and to the next engineer maintaining it. Runtime validation still matters wherever data comes from outside the program; a TypeScript type by itself does not validate an HTTP request or a model response.
Static types with runtime validation
OpenMate combines TypeScript with Zod schemas around structured model and application data. That separation is useful: the compiler checks code relationships during development, while runtime schemas check values that arrive from APIs or model inference.
Rungset also uses TypeScript across its product application and data layer. The goal is not to add a type to every expression for its own sake; it is to reduce ambiguity in code that handles user data and product behavior.
